They can help you manage skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis and ichthyosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applied directly to the skin, emollients provide a protective barrier to the skin, locking in moisture. They help to prevent patches of inflammation and skin condition flare-ups.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-karopharma-free-text pt-large pb-large bg-center bg-cover bg-no-repeat  is-style-primary\" style=\"background-image:url()\"><div class=\"free-text-wrapper container max-w-medium text-left\">\n<h2 class=\"is-style-heading-h1 wp-block-heading\">Emollients as a healthy skincare regime<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many different types of emollient products available: lotions, sprays, creams, ointments, gels or soap substitutes. It\u2019s a good idea to experiment with what works best for you, to create a daily skincare regime. For example, you could apply cream every day, and carry a small tube for handy application when you\u2019re out and about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An emollient soap substitute can help keep your skin moisturised while bathing or hand washing. To apply an emollient, just smooth it on in the direction of hair growth. Avoid rubbing it in to avoid aggravation and icthing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"313\" height=\"238\" src=\"https:\/\/e45.com\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/09\/gentle-cleanser-2.png\" alt=\"gentle-cleanser\" class=\"wp-image-139\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"is-style-heading-h3 wp-block-heading\">Use a gentle cleanser<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To keep your skin hydrated, use an emollient soap substitute: just mix a small amount with a little warm water in the palm of your hand and spread over damp or dry skin. Rinse and pat dry, taking care not to rub the skin.
